Related Data Files Entry  (kourier_export_datafiles.aspx)

Purpose

To define the list of related data files to be used by the export specification. Related files are files which share the same exact data structure as the primary export data file, but have their data in either another file, or a "comma file". The Related Data Files feature in Kourier Integrator for U2 allows you to combine information from related files into one SQL table for ease of reporting using just one export specification, saving you time setting up and maintaining you data exports.

It is common in the U2 environment to segment transactional files by year (or using comma files) to save historical information for a file. For example, the current year's General Ledger File might be named GL while the prior year's General Ledger files are named GL-2008 and GL-2007. If using comma files, the archive files might be called GL,GL2008 and GL,GL2007. For more information on using this feature, please refer to the Related Data Files Guide.
